I cut to see and I cut to make as I explore 'cutting' as process and form. I am interested in how to apply process to a material and arrive at a form that refers back to its making.
The work is informed by the changing role of the book as the world moves from constructed forms that held and protected printed images and text to primarily digital delivery systems. Discarded book remnants including covers, pages, and text are the dominant material of this work. Mostly I cut; however I also print and combine traditional printmaking techniques with digital technologies and the hand. I use the 'cuts' to make the constructions.
